EFFECTIVE SPEAKING SHORT COURSES

Want to WOW an Audience?

Three of the Cheshire Communicators members are approved to deliver POWERtalk International short courses on Effective Speaking. They are all experienced trainers and, collectively, have presented communication skills training to hundreds of students inside and outside POWERtalk International at home and abroad.

The 6-module courses cover:

• Speech Construction – how to put a speech together
• Platform Presence – ways to enhance your performance to control nervousness
• Body Language and Gestures – ensuring your body language supports your words
• Vocal Effectiveness – getting the best from your voice
• Technical/Visual Aids – tools to liven up your presentation
• Practical Delivery – putting it all together

For the final module students give a short presentation putting into practice all the skills learned in the first five modules. The successful completion of the course is marked with the presentation of a certificate.

Planned Course

We shall be delivering a course at the Lion & Swan Hotel, Congleton on Tuesdays at 7.30- 9.30pm from 29 September 2009 to 3 November 2009. For more information email secretary@cheshire.powertalk.org.uk

Benefits

As with all skills, speaking and presenting improve with practice. Your enrolment on the course means that you automatically become a member of Cheshire Communicators until the end of the POWERtalk International year – 31 July 2010. This gives you the chance to benefit from the Training and Accreditation Programmes run by the club and to take part in activities with other POWERtalk International clubs.

You will have access to the Members’ Lounge of the international website www.powertalkinternational.com where you will find a wide range of downloadable education resources and the POWERtalking magazine

You will also receive a free printed copy of the first four sections of our comprehensive training manual. The rest of the manual is available for you to download from the international website – also free of charge.

Fees

The fee for the course is £85. POWERtalk International is a not-for-profit organisation. The trainers give their time voluntarily and the fees are just to cover the expenses incurred – in delivering the courses and paying the POWERtalk membership fees for course participants.
